In parallel to the performances of "Field Works-hotel" at the Maritim Hotel Gelsenkirchen from February 19 to 22, Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki were working on their new creation "distant voices" during a one week-residency at PACT Zollverein.

At the end of that week, on Friday February 21, they opened up the creative process and shared their first thoughts with the public in the foyer of the house, while exchanging some performative actions and reflections. They looked for ways to break out of the normal foyer-setting, by putting all spatial, physical and behavioral relationships between audience members and performers into question.

“distant voices” had its premiere in the fall of 2014.
